KENYA DESTINATIONS
Tsavo East & Tsavo West Safari
Kenya’s largest protected wilderness, with red-dust elephants, volcanic landscapes and few other vehicles. Easy to reach from the coast.
Why go
Tsavo East and Tsavo West together form one of Africa’s largest park systems. Elephants here are coloured by the red earth, and the parks feel vast and uncrowded. Tsavo West has Mzima Springs and lava landscapes, while Tsavo East has open plains and Lugard Falls.
- Red elephants and big herds of buffalo
- Lions, cheetahs and leopards
- Mzima Springs in Tsavo West
- Ideal to combine with Amboseli or a beach stay at Diani
When to go
Best in the dry seasons, June to October and January to February.
Getting there and how long to stay
On the Nairobi to Mombasa road, and a few hours from the coast. Good for 2 to 3 nights or a safari-and-beach trip.
